Designers are familiar with the typical circular color picker menus. You can see this in various software packages including GIMP and Adobe Photoshop. But what about creating color pickers for websites & mobile apps?

I’ve collected a huge set of color picker interfaces designed for mobile apps & webapps. This gallery also includes some icons and design inspiration related to color swatches. UI design is tough and especially when it comes to dynamic effects. Color pickers are just one interface concept which can be difficult to grasp. Settings Pages for iPhone and iPad Apps

Mobile applications today are often coupled with a series of internal page views. These can include login/register pages for accounts, but also settings for application defaults. iOS apps without user account functionality may still use a settings view for the UI color, display effects, and default badge notifications.

These settings pages often contain very handy input UI fields. Think of sliders, switches, buttons, toggles, and lots of other cool features. The vintage look has been coming back on the scene for a while now. Fashions and clothing dated back to the 1960s, 1970s, and the 1980s are still very retro. These statements may also be applied to design and creative typography.

Check out my small collection of retro typography. These shots include not only text effects, but also beaming works of textures and hues. Digital text is not the easiest element to style. And following a retro/vintage design pattern is always an exciting touch.

There’s no denying that Apple computers have built a legacy in the minds of tech-enthusiasts. Their iPhone and iPod Touch devices has certainly brought a lot of new functionality onto the table. Yet their Macbooks are still culturally relevant and can fit almost any lifestyle. The modern technology and hardware specs far exceed many of the Windows-based PCs being produced.

And for this post I have chosen to focus solely on Apple’s mobile suite of computing. This includes illustrations for the MacBook and MacBook pro. For the price you are getting a very powerful piece of technology. Apple has understood this philosophy from the beginning and it’s why the company was able to succeed in many circumstances.

Floating Windows as seen in User Interfaces

Windows were initially interactive blocks in desktop applications, and have since evolved into portals for any software. Desktop and laptop computers are running Operating Systems which require many different panels and windows to work with. But even websites have begun adopting the idea of floating windows, modal popups, and fancy user panels.

In the gallery below I have collected some great examples of window design. The idea behind this trend is to separate functionality from other areas on the page. Added benefits come from a nicer user experience and even some dynamic content. If you can pull off the right look, floating windows are perfect for most any digital application.
