Check Out These Lesser-Known Cities on the West Coast

If you are making a big move out to the west coast, but you are hoping to find the perfect city for you besides LA or Seattle, there are so many undiscovered gems. Whether you want a bigger city near other big cities, or a city on the smaller side, there is something for you.

Consider first what your references are for a city, and which west coast state you would prefer to live in. From there, be sure to check out these lesser-known cities on the west coast that may be perfect for you:

Bellevue, Washington

Bellevue, Washington is located right across Lake Washington from Seattle, so if you like the idea of being in a city located conveniently close to a bigger city, this may be a top pick for you. While many people would pass over Bellevue to be right in Seattle, you should definitely take a close look at this lesser-known Washington city.

Bellevue is an up and coming city on the west coast, becoming known for its technology industry. In addition, a lot of growth has been taking place in Bellevue as far as construction of housing, as you can see from the many Bellevue houses for sale. If you like the idea of being near Seattle in another vibrant and growing city, check out Bellevue.

Jacksonville, Oregon

If you really want the experience of living in a unique city, give Jacksonville, Oregon a try. This city is located in southern Oregon and modeled to look like an Old Western town. Downtown is made up of historical buildings, including the original town bank.

However, aside from the unique looks of the city, it is known for its small-town feeling, so if you are looking for the community-vibe on the west coast, this is a great lesser-known city to consider. It also has a beautiful amphitheater for seasonal outdoor concerts and is only a short drive from Ashland, Oregon.

San Juan Bautista, California

While I’m sure LA, San Francisco, and San Diego top your list of California cities, San Juan Bautista is probably completely off your radar. Located just a short drive away from many of the major Bay Area cities and attractions, this is another city that is lesser-known but conveniently located.

San Juan Bautista is also a historically-rooted town, as it was originally home to a Spanish Mission. You can still tour the mission today, and you can also take in the modern sights of this amazing lesser-known west coast city.

If you like the idea of living on the west coast but want to avoid the hustle and bustle and price tag of the larger cities like Seattle, LA, and San Francisco, there are still plenty of options to choose from.

Whether you want to live in Washington state, Oregon, or California, there is a lesser-known west coast city for you. Bellevue, Jacksonville, and San Juan Bautista should definitely top your list of lesser-known west coast cities.
